RSVP – Retired & Senior Volunteer Program

RSVP MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION
The RSVP program has had a longer history here in Des Moines County, prior to joining as one of our newest initiatives. As such, we want to honor its founder: [name], and the men and women photographed here that have continued running this program for the better part of the last decade. The community would not be able to survive in the way that they do now, without the help of these fantastic volunteers.
WHAT IS THE RSVP MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM?
The RSVP Medical Transportation Program offers rides to Des Moines County residents to and from their medical appointments. In previous years, this was limited to residents above the age of 55, however due to a generous donation from Great River Regional and an Anonymous Donor, the United Way of Southeast Iowa was able to work towards allowing others to receive assistance.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The service is free, and at no cost to you. We reimburse our drivers for mileage, and they donate their time. We only request that you respect our drivers, and our employees that help handle the administrative side of scheduling out your ride.
