RIDE UNITED: LAST MILE DELIVERY

United Way’s Ride United: Last Mile Delivery is an initiative that we fought for to help those facing food insecurity in our community. We understand the difficulty that comes with accessing food pantries for those struggling right now. Whether it be due to time constraints, age constraints, disability, or more, you can rest easy knowing that help is just one call away.

Partnering with our local food pantries, and other non-profits, we aim to help those struggling to get what they need when they need it. This program was designed to fill the critical “Last Mile” gap in accessing nutritious foods and essential resources for clients that lack accessible transportation.

This is where DoorDash comes in, using their ever-expanding Dasher network to make those last mile deliveries. They meet with new mothers, disabled individuals, homebound seniors, and so many more community members to ensure they can survive. The Dashers are then paid by DoorDash, compensated depending on the delivery.

We want to thank DoorDash and United Way Worldwide for making this possible in the Southeast Iowan community. And look forward to not only helping our struggling community members, but also working with fantastic Partners that make it all possible.

LET US
HELP YOU
WITH THE LAST MILE.

HOW TO BECOME A PARTNER

Are you interested in supporting your community through our partnership with DoorDash? We are always taking new partners to join the taskforce, and share what they can so that our community is able to continue to survive and hopefully, thrive.

To be considered for the partnership, we request that you submit an application through a Google Form. This will allow us to go through the vetting process to ensure you and your organization are a good fit. It is highly encouraged that you send in an application after you’ve reviewed the list of Approved Items. In order to hold this grant we must abide by the terms and conditions set through DoorDash and United Way Worldwide.
